Review by Catherine Taylor, De Groots Media: "Volare fits the bill for people who want a friendly local Italian restaurant where they can relax while enjoying great food and wine. The menu features many of the old favourites from the original Volare in Broadbeach meddled with some new flavours. Start with calamari fritti, beef carpaccio or whitebait fritters. Pasta entrees include a delicious spinach and ricotta ravioli or go Sicilian with rigatoni Volare which tosses tube pasta with ricotta and pieces of eye fillet beef simmered in a Sicilian ragu.
Main courses include grilled fish with lemon beurre blanc, rocket and roasted garlic mash. But the speciality of the house is a delicious concoction of bugs, prawns, baby octopus, calamari, fish and mussels simmered in white wine, garlic, fresh herbs and Napoli sauce. It’s guaranteed to satisfy the heartiest appetite. The misto mare brings grilled seafood into another dimension with a Sicilian salsa but if you really want to push the boat out, order the whole lobster in a light gorgonzola and parmesan mornay. It is luxury on a plate."
